How does one build a better brain??? Putting yourself in uncomfortable, unknown, new situations at times......and other times finding the new in the old. Perception is partly how we see the world and being able to peel off the different filters to see it anew again and again....it's also courageously facing each "lie" we tell ourselves and thru it all building more neural pathways. True Joy and happiness resides where we can be resilient and bounce back after life happens to us.
Kai was created with neural plasticity as the largest impetus. Helping to care for my dad as he lost function from 3 brain tumors put me on a path of studying the brain. The latest advances in neural science include being able to now image the brain, tho it's not done regularly it's giving science lots more information.
One fact is Alzheimer's begins showing its effects 40-50 years before it's fully diagnosed!
Another is " brain health" programs can slow or even reverse many misdiagnosed mental illnesses....mentioned was a young boy who exhibited violent tendencies.
Not all of us can go out and get a brain scan.... but we can notice and take responsibility for how our brain is doing and choose to explore healthy options as well as or in place of medication. Do you care for your brain???
In Kai the areas of the brain that stimulate sight, music interpretation, metaphor, imagery, proprioception, emotional awareness, spacial awareness, rt/left dominance and balance, learning movement patterns, mindfulness, higher conscious thoughts, witnessing, dreaming, logical thoughts and even math at times are utilized. Most important is each class is unique and draws in the present moment, group energy and surprise....to stimulate new neural networks.
At times research feels so slow to catch up on lots of what we already know. However, this information will open many new doors for folks and hopefully motivate more self care responsibility and less reliance on systems, medicines etc. Our lifestyle choices greatly effect our health all the way around.
